When the UnitedBitcoin project launched in December 2017, we set out to be the first Bitcoin fork to instate community airdrops. This became possible due to our quite unique opt-in, commitment-based coin distribution method. This enables us to specifically reward people interested in UnitedBitcoin, instead of locking UBTC on each and every Bitcoin address, whether the owner is interested or not.

Since the first snapshot of the community airdrop in February 2018, we’ve received your feedback, both compliments and complaints: the airdrop is appreciated, but 48 months is too long.

To that end, we are innovating future airdrops in response to community feedback and industry revolutions. We are revising the plan.

Our original plan was to airdrop UBTC to holders of ETH, HSR, INK, LTC and QTUM monthly over a four year period (a 1/48 ratio over 48 months). The amount would be based on the ratio of your ETH, HSR, INK, LTC and QTUM wallets at the snapshot date. For example, the UBTC airdrop ratio of ETH will be 200:1 of 1/48 of the balance at the time of the relevant snapshot.

We are expediting the community airdrop and distributing the remainder of the airdrop at once.

This means that instead of receiving vested final payments of your eligible UBTC monthly over 4 years, users who registered for the final snapshot will receive in one last airdrop, which can be withdrawn on UB.com in the same manner as previous months.

Community members who have not registered for the airdrop will also have one last chance to register on the the final snapshot dates of April 1st (HSR, QTUM), 11th (ETH, LTC), and 21st (INK) to claim their eligible UBTC.

The snapshot dates and withdrawal schedule can be found in accordance with the April airdrop cycle. All registered and new users will receive the remaining 46/48 parts of their eligible UBTC.

We are innovating future airdrops to have incentives (such as bonuses, referral systems, and vesting for 6 months) and requirements for interacting with the UB foundation, with other community members, and with the cryptocurrency community at large.

Communities do not happen by chance, they are not passive. Lasting communities are opt-in. This is what we envision for the next generation of airdrops.
