Hello, I hope you are well. Concretely, what's your vision for the future?

A1:

That’s a big question, hah, but the best answer I can give is that we believe blockchain is the future for connecting people together just like society and the Internet did, and space exploration is a matter of survival for humanity at this point. We are very lucky to work in both fields.

How does SpaceChain plan to pay operating expenses 10 years from now? Who will lead these future projects?

A2:

Great question, we just want to emphasize that SPC is not a satellite launching company. We are a non-profit organization that wants to bring blockchain and space together and create more opportunity in both fields. There are people who are better at launching satellites, designing rockets than us, but we are the leading organization that are creating numerous business opportunities for commercial space companies and blockchain projects.  I believe a solid business does not require that much initial funding. It has always been this way.

Did you skip ICO and do private sale because of China ICO ban?

We are a Singapore based foundation and we have carefully consulted legal professionals from various fields and they have suggested to us that we do it this way.

What's Tim Drapers role on the team?

He is our angel investor and a core business advisor. He will continue support our project and help us build connections and partnership in blockchain and the space field.

How will SpaceChain overcome the obstacles of government regulation? How much can regulations affect SpaceChain?

A5:

Great question. I would say we are working with many commercial space companies in various regions globally. They have the expertise to work with their local government and adhere to global standards. We are promoting a new idea, a new concept that will bring many new business opportunities and [research opportunities]. This creates jobs and also provides technological advancement. I believe governments all over the world want this as well.

As a European investor, I noticed that Qtum projects in general are not well-known here. It might be due to a lack of full translation of the content and updates you provide. How do you plan to enhance the visibility and the accessibility of your project in Europe or in the USA?

Great question! We have team members from Singapore, London, New York, SF, Beijing and Shanghai at this moment. We are for totally international and will create a more online and offline presence as the project progresses.

As the operating nodes will be deployed on satellites, how do you plan to handle technical failure of operating nodes and carry out maintenance?

A7:

By a distributed oracle. If one fails, the rest can continue. The operation and maintenance will be done by partners who are professionals in their technical segments.

Q8:

Does SpaceChain actually require its own token? What is the purpose of the SPC token?

A8:

SPC token represents our economic system. For instance, SPC OS is building an “android” and an “appstore” in space tech. SPC will be the currency that is spent on the “appstore”, and it has limited number available.  Many space companies will also accept SPC as payment so you can use these applications. More information will be released.  Look out for our whitepaper.

When I put that smart contract in, it did not auto-populate a decimal and token name. What is decimals?

A partnership with Golem would increase Special Exploration by combining our computing powers...What do you think about that?

Q12:

In this case, SpaceChain would be the data acquisition or data trafficking component while Golem complements the data analysis or computational part by running machine learning, pattern recognition and visualization algorithms. However, this would require SpaceChain to also deploy sensors for data acquisition on its satellites that need to be properly powered and also maintained.

Z: Yes, SpaceChain’s satellite will have a blockchain payload which will do all the calculate and data analysis, and a communication payload who will do all the communication job like data acquisition and data transmission. Both payload will be put on satellite and of cause they need to be powered and also support by satellite platform.

Why did SpaceChain specifically prefer Qtum platform over other available platforms? What will be the key advantages of running SpaceChain on Quantum?

QTum has very solid foundation for technology and interesting vision. It combines smart contract platform with a solid financial layer. I believe it is the future of blockchain.  We are the one of the few blockchain project that involve a lot of hardware. QTum uses POS (proof of stake) which is far less energy consuming than POW (proof of work). Our satellite chips can easily run QTum after sandboxing and testing. I believe that less energy consumption and a thinner structure has always been the trend for hardware combined with software.

I do not think any companies are really our competitors.  We are not doing the same thing. The market we are in is really small now and we wish more people will join us to bring blockchain and space together. We are not focusing on any particular area. To answer your question on how our vision is going to work and how it is working now: we release a suggestion of what we want to do, what are our missions, and how we can support the process. Companies and people respond to us with what they believe they can help to achieve our goal, and we evaluate if we can work together.  That’s how SpaceChain OS, the first satellite and many other projects started to and are happening.
