MANILA, Philippines, May 31, 2018 — Lathika Chandra Mouli, Energo Labs’ Business Development Manager, was invited to speak as a panelist at the Blockchain Application and Economics Forum 2018: Forming Business and Industries with Blockchain Technology in Manila from May 28–30. Hosted by Blockchain Asia Forum, the conference aimed to link corporate leaders with blockchain technology by presenting a diversity of blockchain business applications ranging from video games to real estate.

Chandra Mouli’s panel session centered around how blockchain will change logistics, energy, and agriculture. Representing an energy-based perspective, she explained the integration of blockchain into the clean energy sector, using Energo Labs’ DAE community solution as an example of how emerging blockchain-based technology can be utilized to transform energy production and consumption systems. Fellow panelists included Dr. Alexis V. Pantola, Blockchain Architect at the IBM Client Innovation Center, and Emerson Fonseca, Head of NEM Foundation Philippines.

Other sessions during the comprehensive two-day conference focused on pertinent industry topics such as regulations and risks related to blockchain, how blockchain changes the entertainment industry, and blockchain’s impact on financial transactions and services. Aside from Chandra Mouli, guest speakers at the event included Lope A. Doromal Jr., CTO of IBM Philippines Inc.; Dr. Mel Gill, CEO of Pandora Publishing House; and Christian Lim, COO of Microsoft Philippines.
This event follows other recent networking and speaking events that Energo has contributed to in the Philippines — in addition to these activities, Energo Labs is currently in the process of further expanding our proof-of-concept campus microgrid project at De La Salle University — Dasmarinas in Manila.
